Client-specific modernization concept based on the architect’s design
Stadthalle Magdeburg was built in 1927 as part of the German Theater Exhibition and remains an architectural gem of its era. The Berlin-based architectural office gmp has now developed a compelling modernization concept: the hall retains its historic charm while becoming more contemporary, functional, and future-oriented on the inside.
The stage technology we designed supports this vision and significantly improves the hall’s operational workflows. With movable auditorium platforms, the room’s topography can be changed quickly to create, for example, tiered seating. Numerous rigging points and lifting devices are installed on stage and throughout the hall to accommodate decorations, equipment, and modern event requirements.
